Looks like installation has started on Ann Arbor’s canoe art

Last month, Site Specific spoke with the Arts Alliance about a project that would recycle a bunch of old canoes into public art along the Huron River.

I was happy to see that installation is moving along; MLive has posted pictures of Victoria Fuller’s “Canoe Fan” and Jeff Zischke’s “Canoe-vue,” both of which were selected by a jury of local artists, educators, and City representatives, among others.

According to MLive, two pieces remain to be installed, including one that was chosen by popular vote: “Turbine,” designed by a team from Missouri Western State University. Installation is slated to complete by July 31.
